Tap In: Beginner Bootcamp

Always wanted to tap but never had the chance? Or maybe you’ve been dying to dust off the tap shoes you bought years ago for that amazing number in your high school musical…Then this Tap “Beginner Bootcamp” series is calling your name!

In this 5-week course, you’ll learn basic technique along with a vocabulary of fundamental steps, from digs to flaps to shuffles. While each session will kick off with some “follow-the-leader” style drills to warm up, the bulk of the time will be spent breaking down and practicing different sounds. You’ll also work on connecting moves to create short combinations. By the end of the series, you’ll have a solid foundation to continue learning in our ongoing tap technique courses.

The pace of instruction will be geared toward absolute and recent beginners, but more experienced students seeking to improve their technique are also welcome to join in. (And since we’re so excited to get this debut series off the ground, we’re also offering 20% off for all Philly Dance Fitness members, something we’ve typically only done for one-time workshops). 

Tap shoes highly recommended for the best experience. However, if you’re brand new to tap and not ready to commit to buying shoes, you can participate in sneakers or character shoes.

A minimum of four participants is required to hold this series. If we do not meet that minimum, we will notify those who have signed up and offer a full refund.
