12 Sep Take It Off Broadway: A Burlesque Variety Show
Burlesque. Dance. Drag. Debauchery. And, of course, Broadway.
If you love any or all of the above, you cannot miss our upcoming “Take It Off Broadway” show!
We’ve once again teamed up with renowned local burlesque producer HoneyTree EvilEye (who also happens to be one of our long-standing and amazing instructors!) to present this Broadway-themed collaboration featuring burlesque, jazz, drag, live singing and more.
The September 28th show, taking place at Ruba Club in Northern Liberties, includes choreographed group dance numbers performed by Philly Dance Fitness students and staff, as well as original pieces created by local burlesque, drag and music stars. This diverse lineup brings together two communities over a shared love of musical theater.
The professional acts include a fiery solo from Jezabelle von Jane, a twist on one of the most famous songs from Cabaret performed by Farrah Thorne, and an appearance from drag queen Omyra Lynn. And, of course, producers Fiona Firebomb and HoneyTree EvilEye will also hit the stage.
The performances draw inspiration from a wide range of musicals: West Side Story, Legally Blonde: The Musical, Dreamgirls, Nine, Carmen Jones and more.
As HoneyTree puts it, “there’s absolutely something for every possible taste.”
