In spite of the heat, July is one of our favorite months because of Philadelphia Dance Day, a huge nonprofit community festival where hundreds of people come together to celebrate dance! If you haven’t already, please mark your calendars for Saturday, July 30, because this is one massive dance party that you don’t want to miss! Aside from Dance Day, we’ve got a few new classes on our weekly schedule, as well as fresh themes for our Frisky Friday parties. Read on for those details, as well as discount passes to our monthly technique programs and other schedule notes:
Schedule Additions & Changes
Unleash your rock-band dreams twice a week this summer! In addition to our Wednesday night section, we’re adding another POUND class on Friday evenings, so you can Zumba and then rock your way into the weekend! This full-body cardio jam session combines light resistance with constant simulated drumming. Expect a mix of cardio, Pilates, isometric poses and plyometrics — as one of our members describes it, a very cathartic strength conditioning workout!
- Fridays at 7 p.m. with Lehla (also Wednesdays at 8 p.m.)

- Moderate intensity | Beginner friendly
Experience authentic and exhilarating choreography with upbeat music from around the world in this new class, which is similar to our Bollywood Blast program, but follows a specific format accredited by national fitness organizations. Cycle between higher and lower intensity dance sequences to get an effective cardio interval workout. If you love Hindi music and hip-hop, this class is the perfect fusion!
- Mondays at 6:30 p.m. with Teena (also Bollywood Blast on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.)

On Break: Daytime Cardio Pop, Saturday Stretch and Sunday Bollywood
Due to a children’s summer camp at our Rittenhouse location, the Monday noon section of Cardio Pop with Trina will be on break until September, resuming the week after Labor Day. Likewise, Saturday Power Stretch & Sculpt and Sunday Bollywood Blast will go on summer hiatus. Sunday Pilates with Timaree will become Power Stretch & Sculpt, so you can still get some weekend stretching in — as well as a serious core workout that includes lots of Pilates exercises! Bollywood fans can get their cardio dance workout on twice a week with the addition of BollyX on Mondays and the continuation of our Tuesday night Bollywood Blast.
Frisky Friday Striptease Dance Parties
- Lap Dance 101: Friday, July 15 at 8:30 p.m. at Midtown
- $15 tickets include wine and refreshments; members get an additional $5 off
If you’re looking for more individual attention to up your dance expertise, sign up for our small group Bollywood Tech, Pointe and Beginner Tap Technique programs. Enrollment is capped at all of these classes, so signing up for the month guarantees your spot and saves off the drop-in price.
Class Reductions on July 4 Weekend
Due to Independence Day, we’ll have the following changes to our usual line-up:
- Friday, July 1: No Cardio Pop; all other classes as usual
- Saturday, July 2: All classes as usual
- Sunday, July 3: No BalletEXTREME; all other classes as usual
- Monday, July 4: NO CLASSES, Happy Independence Day!
