Yee-haw 2015!! We can’t wait to dance into the New Year with you! We’ve got a fully loaded schedule coming your way, with a new Contemporary Ballet Technique class as well as the return of Bollywood Blast, Pilates and Tuesday Cardio Pop, plus all of your old favorites. Only one existing program changes times this month, read on for the details:
New or Back in Action
In addition to ballet basics, this new program is the perfect opportunity to better understand the technique behind some of the movements you might do in our other jazz or modern classes. Expect a fusion of barre technique with contemporary, lyrical and jazz center and progressive exercises. No prior dance or ballet experience necessary at all.
- Mondays at 8 p.m. with Angela
- Midtown, 1301 Locust St., 2nd Floor
Bollywood Blast
Our high energy Indian dance fitness class is back from winter break! We take a traditional North Indian folk dance, add some hip-hop moves, a little Bollywood flavor and relentlessly upbeat music. The result: one seriously fun, off-the-chain workout. If Hindi music makes you want to move or you’ve daydreamed of dancing in a huge Bollywood number, now’s your chance!
- Wednesdays at 8 p.m. with Antima
- Rittenhouse, 1624 South St.
Cardio Pop
Our double-dose of weekly Cardio Pop returns! Sweat with Alyssa S. on Tuesday nights and Timaree on Thursdays in this high-octane class. With the latest upbeat songs to keep you going, maybe you won’t even notice how hard you’re working. Some routines are pure cardio, others focus on strengthening and sculpting. Either way, you’re guaranteed to feel the burn.
- Tuesdays at 8:15 p.m. (also continuing on Thursdays at 7:15 p.m.)
- Both at Midtown, 1301 Locust St., 2nd Floor
Pilates
Yes, it’s easy to hide under heavy sweaters in the winter, but it’s always a good time to work on your abs, and Pilates is one of the best ways to get tangible results. Cinch your core — and more — in this low-impact, but still killer, class.
- Sundays at noon
- Rittenhouse, 1624 South St.
African Jazz Time Change
- Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.
- Midtown, 1301 Locust St., 2nd Floor
