January Schedule Additions

More classes, amazing instructors and brand new programs are all headed your way starting this week! Find the complete details below and the full schedule here.

New Programs

Bokwa – “Sweat the alphabet” in this addictive, fast-paced blend of South African war dance, hip-hop, kickboxing and Capoeira.

When: Tuesdays at 8 p.m. with Erin
Where: The Arts Parlor, 1170 S. Broad St.

Modern Dance Fitness – Release your creativity as you extend, spiral and sweat through this liberating workout that draws on concepts from jazz, ballet and lyrical dance.

When: Mondays at 7:30 p.m. with Angela
Where: The Arts Parlor

Pre-Pointe – After enthusiastic response to a recent workshop series, we are now offering a bi-monthly half-hour conditioning class for ballet dancers interested in working on pointe.

When: First and third Saturdays from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. with Beverly
Where: Major Moment Studio, 1624 South St.

Yoga – Link mind, breath, movement and music as you flow through a series of asanas designed to elongate every muscle.

When: Second and fourth Wednesdays at 6 p.m. with Emily
Where: Major Moment

In addition to these four programs, we’re also adding more sections of your favorite classes:

Nia – Back from a brief break, connect body and spirit with the joy of movement in this low-impact program.

When: Thursdays at noon with Suzanne
Where: Major Moment

Frisky Fridays – There was so much sexy going on we decided to hold Frisky Fridays twice a month!

When: Second and fourth Fridays at 7 p.m. with Timaree
Where: Major Moment

Hip-Hop – All you hip-hop fans can now get funky twice a week.

When: Tuesdays at 6 p.m. with Angela AND Wednesdays at 8 p.m. with Maya
Where: Major Moment

Zumba – What can we say, you guys are crazy about Zumba so we have no choice but to keep giving you more.

When: Fridays at 6 p.m. with Lehla
Where: Major Moment

(Note that the 6 p.m. Wednesday Art Museum Zumba Toning class will also become regular Zumba for a while as our Toning instructor is off on maternity leave!)

Time and Location Changes

We tried not to impact the current schedule too much but there were a few cases where we had to shift classes around:

Pilates – Timaree will be taking over Pilates on Sundays at noon at Major Moment, just after Dance Party Boot Camp.

Advanced Beginner Ballet – We heard that work schedules kept several dancers from getting to class, so the Monday night section now starts an hour later, at 7 p.m.

Tuesday Zumba/Impact Jazz – To accommodate large crowds, Jaime’s 7 p.m. Zumba class will now be held at the Arts Parlor in South Philly. There will still be an 8 p.m. section at Major Moment taught by Veronica, following Kathy’s Impact Jazz, now at 7 p.m.
