Dance Into 2018 With Us

Another year of dancing done, another year ahead. As usual, we’re loading up our January schedule with MORE classes, including the addition of Ballet technique at our Fairmount location! In fact, we’re doubling our classes in Fairmount with a new Sunday morning ZumbaBallet I on Tuesdays and Barre Fit on Wednesdays. We’re also welcoming back our double-dose of Dance Party Boot Camp on Sundays in Rittenhouse to make sure there’s enough room for everyone who wants to attend. And of course, we’ve got some amazing workshops on deck: our gigantic “Taste of Philly Dance Fitness” sessions as well as brand new Frisky Friday striptease dance parties. Read on for all the details.

New or Back in Action

Ballet
We have a hunch there might be some ballet aficionados in Fairmount looking for a place to dance, so we’ve got a brand new Beginner I section starting there in 2018! Join Lee-Ann on Tuesdays for a comprehensive mix of technique, terminology and center floor combinations. Note: Lee-Ann will also continue to teach Cardio Pop in Fairmount on Tuesdays, but that class will now begin when Ballet ends at 7:15 p.m.

Barre Fit
Build strength, stamina and flexibility using ballet movements in this power-packed workout. Expect a mix of isometric exercises at the barre, cardio dance movements and Pilates. Between this new Fairmount section, our Monday/Thursday classes in Midtown, and our Tuesday/Sunday BalletEXTREME® in Rittenhouse, we now have barre options five days of the week!

Dance Party Boot Camp
Take your New Year’s fitness resolutions to full throttle in this high intensity interval training (HIIT) dance program. We’ve already got lots of Dance Party Boot Camp on our schedule, but we’re adding a second section on Sundays to accommodate crowding at the longstanding 11 a.m. class.

  • Sundays at noon with Timaree
    • This is a repeat of the 11 a.m. class. We ask that students please only attend one section to allow room for everyone.

Zumba
We’ve had Zumba on our schedule since we started way back in 2010, but we’ve never had a class on Sunday — until now! If you just can’t resist moving along to Latin and international music, head over to Fairmount on Sunday mornings to jam with Lehla, one of the best Zumba instructors in the city! Yes, we’re biased, but she is. We promise it’ll be worth getting up early on a Sunday, plus you’ll have plenty of time for brunch afterwards. No pattern memorization or dance experience required – just follow the leader and prepare to sweat!

Time Changes 

With the reintroduction of our double Boot Camp on Sundays in Rittenhouse, our weekend Power Stretch & Sculpt class moves back to 1 p.m., and likewise Beginner I Ballet will start at 2 p.m. Those changes take effect starting Sunday, Jan. 7.

In Fairmount, Tuesday night Cardio Pop will begin later, at 7:15 p.m., following the new Beginner I Ballet technique class.

Taste of Philly Dance Fitness
Can’t decide which class to try first? Check out our annual Taste of Philly Dance Fitness workshops and sample more than eight of our signature programs in one crazy-awesome, jam-packed dancefest. It’s a great introduction to the diversity of our schedule. We’ll cap off the dance fest with an array of catered munchies to energize your workout and a brief presentation on how to incorporate nourishing, fresh foods into your busy lives. After you’ve had your “fill” of dancing, we’ll send you home with a “foodie” bag of tasty snacks to fuel you post-workout. As in past years, we’ll have two unique “Taste” workshops since we can’t cram all of our programs into one session. Even if you’ve already been to many of our classes, there’s nothing quite like these mega dance fitness parties. $40 tickets include dancing, refreshments and a take-home bag of snacks. Frisky Friday: Striptease Dance Parties
Build confidence and tone your entire body in these mini workshops featuring smokin’ hot dance routines, complimentary wine and refreshments! By the end of the hour, you’ll have an arsenal of moves that you can use with or without a lap to dance on. These workshops are usually held twice a month and pre-registration is highly recommended as they’ve been known to sell out! $18 tickets include wine and refreshments; Members automatically get 20 percent off!
