Mark your calendars! The eighth annual Philadelphia Dance Day is coming up on July 29, featuring more than 25 FREE workshops at studios all around the city and a huge $5 evening event with more instructional sessions, a performance showcase and social dancing. Seriously, this is one of the best events in Philly in the summer — the shore can wait for another weekend!
What could be better than a massive, citywide summer dancestravaganza? MORE free dance parties, of course!
To highlight the upcoming Dance Day, we’ll be doing a FREE preview event at Sound Space the prior Saturday, July 22. Get your groove going early with a “mini Dance Day” at this beautiful new studio in Fairmount. Sample everything from Tap to Bollywood to Afro Cuban. Find the full schedule and RSVP here.
Wait, there’s even more! We’re also heading to Eakins Oval for a free Cardio Dance Mashup on Wednesday, July 26. The hour-long program starts at 7 p.m. and will include a mix of Cardio Pop, Zumba and line dancing. All are welcome; the music and choreography will be family-friendly. Expect to sweat and don’t forget sunscreen!
Philadelphia Dance Day is a volunteer-driven nonprofit event held every year on the last Saturday in July. The goal: To unite the community in celebrating dance as a powerful platform for creative expression and physical activity. This collaborative event would not be possible without the support of dozens of partner organizations, sponsors, volunteers and donors. If you’d like to get involved, too, please contact us to volunteer to volunteer or make a tax-deductible contribution online. See you on July 29!
