September Heat!

Don’t be sad that summer is ending, because we’ve got all kinds of great classes headed your way this fall, including FOUR additions to the schedule. Also please note that a few of our existing programs will be swapping times and/or locations. Here’s the lowdown:

New Additions

African Jazz 
Get your heart pumping with this dynamic blend of modern jazz and west African dance technique. We’ll take jazz back to its African roots and forward through cultural and pop styles. Be prepared for kicks, jumps, spins and high energy torso and arm movements. Every muscle in your body will get a workout as you dance to invigorating drumming from Africa, pop hits and even a couple of uptempo Broadway numbers.

  • Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. with Sherrilyn
  • South Philly, 1170 S. Broad St. **Starting Sept. 9**

Cardio Pop
Since you all love to sweat so much, we thought you’d like another section of our high-octane Cardio Pop program. With the latest upbeat songs to keep you going, maybe you won’t even notice how hard you’re working. Some routines will be pure cardio, others will focus on strengthening and sculpting.

  • Tuesdays at 8:15 p.m. with Alyssa
  • Midtown, 1301 Locust St., 2nd Floor

Back in Action: Jazz, Bhangra
A few of our smaller classes went on hiatus during the summer, but now they’re back! Please come and support them. (Note: Two more will return in October — Pilates and our second section of TapTonic.)

Impact Jazz
Let loose your inner Fosse and imagine you’re on a Broadway stage in this high-energy twist on contemporary jazz. By the end of this nonstop cardio class, you’ll have built a choreographed routine. Explore different “themes” every week, from musical theater to disco.

  • Mondays at 6 p.m. with Kathy
  • Rittenhouse, 1624 South St

Bhangra Blast
Take a traditional North Indian folk dance, add some hip-hop moves, a little Bollywood flavor and relentlessly upbeat music. The result: one seriously fun, off-the-chain workout. If Indian music makes you want to move or you’ve daydreamed of dancing in a huge Bollywood number, now’s your chance to hit the Bhangra scene!

  • Wednesdays at 8 p.m. with Antima
  • Rittenhouse, 1624 South St
Three Time Changes
A couple of existing classes will be shifting times to accommodate our instructors’ schedules. The biggest change is that some of our Tuesday and Wednesday line-up at Major Moment will be swapping. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience, we hope that you will continue to attend all of these classes:
  • Tuesdays: Jazz Tech at 6 p.m. followed by BalletEXTREME at 7 p.m., and then no change to the Zumba at 8 p.m. (South St)
  • Wednesdays: Hip-Hop at 6 p.m. followed by Modern Fitness at 7 p.m.; then Bhangra at 8 p.m. (South St)
  • Thursdays: Cardio Pop with Timaree moves to 7:15 p.m. (Midtown)

For example, this month there will be no class on Labor Day Monday and two reductions that following Tuesday. We don’t anticipate any other cancelations in September, but if anything changes, it will be posted on that calendar as well as our social media pages.
