Wine, grind and bruk it dung at our Afro-Caribbean master class!
Get ready to fog up da place with some serious sweat because this will be one crazy high-energy dance journey through Africa and the Caribbean islands!
Under the expert guidance of Philly Dance Fitness instructor Lehla Olson, you’ll explore a variety of styles, from soca to Azonto to dancehall. Lehla will break down some of the hallmark moves of each genre and show you how movements from one area have influenced another. After you’ve learned a few steps, we’ll crank up the volume and start piecing them together in a series of cardio dance routines.
If you missed celebrating during Carnivale season earlier this spring, this will be a perfect chance to get your soca fix and then some. Feel free to bring a small towel so you can pump yuh flag during the Caribbean songs. You may also wish to bring a scarf to tie around your waist for some of the African routines.
This will be a learning and party experience you don’t want to miss! So breed easy, you can save your spot to party hard with us by pre-registering online. Sign-up by April 8 and save $5! No prior wining, grinding, shaking, African or dancehall experience necessary. Ages 14 and up.
