Happy 2020!! If this new decade motivates you to find your “perfect vision” of health, we’ve got all sorts of amazing classes to help you reach your goals. We’re loading up our January schedule with more of your favorite programs, the return of Power Stretch and Barre Fit, plus new additions like Dance Party Boot Camp+ and Cardio Pop Intro.

On top of all this, we’ve put together four exciting workshops: our gigantic “Taste of Philly Dance Fitness” sessions as well as brand new Frisky Friday striptease dance parties featuring Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, JLo, Shakira & more hot divas. Read on for full details plus notes about a few existing classes that are changing times.

Barre Fit
Redefine your body, improve your posture and push your muscles to the max with our combination of isometric barre exercises, ballet-inspired movements, Pilates and a dash of cardio dance.

  • Mondays at 8 p.m. with Deb
  • Midtown
  • Low Impact/Moderate Intensity | Beginner friendly

Burn calories and feel like a Bollywood star as you dance through a series of cardio routines filled with high-energy movements. Cap off the class with a mini “dance-battle” finale.

  • Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. with Teena (and also still on Sunday mornings)

Cardio Pop
For those who get to leave work before dinner time, we’re adding another 5 p.m. section of this signature program, this time on Tuesdays. Amp up your heart rate as you dance along to a catchy soundtrack of pop hits, past and present. Expect medium to high intensity choreo mixed with strength moves like squats, lunges, standing abs and even arm exercises.

Cardio Pop Intro
A new one for our daytime dancers! Expect the same great music and easy to follow routines that you find in our usual Cardio Pop classes, but with a little more time devoted to demonstrating modifications and breaking down moves so that everyone can master them.

Dance Party Boot Camp+
Take your New Year’s fitness resolutions to full throttle in this high intensity interval training (HIIT) dance program. We’ve already got lots of DPBC options on our schedule, but we’re experimenting with an amped up section on Monday nights for those who want to sweat their faces off even harder. If you’re a morning person, also check out our recently added 7 a.m. section on Thursdays!

  • High intensity | Beginner friendly choreo (best for those comfortable with high impact workouts)

Power Stretch & Sculpt
Elongate and tone your entire body with this invigorating fusion of yoga, Pilates, strength training and sometimes a bit of dance. Great for those who want a challenging conditioning class as well as those recovering from injuries. We’re adding two sections in 2020, so you can dive into the weekend feeling stretched out and strong!

  • Fridays at 6 p.m. with Michelle in Midtown
  • Saturdays at 11 a.m. with Emily S. in South Philly, starting Jan. 11.

A few of our existing classes will be shifting times and/or locations to accommodate changes in our instructor’s schedules:

Belly Dance Fitness
Work your hips, abs, back and arms in all sorts of new ways while challenging your mind, muscle control, balance and flexibility in this uptempo fusion of Middle Eastern dance. Perfect for brand new and experienced belly dancers alike!

  • Now on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. with new instructor Selene

Bollywood Tech
Weave authentic Indian dance moves into beautiful “stage ready” routines in this choreo-focused program, which shifts back to its later time slot in the new year. If you love Bollywood, join us starting at 7:15 p.m. for a BollyX workout, then stay to learn choreography!

  • Low/Moderate Intensity | Beginner to Intermediate (best for those who enjoy learning footwork)

Hip Hop
Ricky’s mixed-levels class moves to Midtown and a slightly later time. Warm up with a few cardio routines, then build a complete combination. Explore new footwork and styles every week!

If you love Latin and international music, we’ve got amazing Zumba classes almost every day of the week. But please note the changes to these two sections: Mikey’s daytime class moves to Wednesdays and Chenelle’s Friday class moves back to the Rittenhouse location, beginning a half-hour earlier.

Taste of Philly Dance Fitness
Can’t decide which class to try first? Check out our annual Taste of Philly Dance Fitness workshops to sample more than eight of our signature programs in one crazy, jam-packed dance fest. It’s a great introduction to the diversity of our schedule. Since we can’t cram even half of our programs into one session, we’ll have two unique “Taste” workshops on Jan. 18 and Feb. 15. Even if you’ve already been to many of our classes, there’s nothing quite like these mega dance fitness parties!

  • $35 tickets include more than 2 hours of dance instruction plus a full spread of healthy, flavorful munchies.

Frisky Friday: Striptease Dance Parties
Build confidence and tone your entire body in these mini workshops featuring smokin’ hot dance routines, complimentary wine and refreshments! By the end of the night, you’ll have an arsenal of moves that you can use with or without a lap to dance on.

We’re kicking off the year with a “striptease battle” featuring some of the hottest pop divas who topped the charts in 2019: Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Ariana Grande, Lizzo and more. Then we’re turning up the Latin heat with a tribute to Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, in honor of their upcoming Super Bowl half time show. These workshops often sell out so be sure to pre-register!
