Ballroom Romance Valentine’s Day Workshop

Ballroom Romance Valentine’s Day Workshop

heart schedule 284x200Flowers, cards, dinner out — those are all well and good, but why not make this Valentine’s Day extra memorable by connecting with your sweetheart on the dance floor at our Ballroom Romance workshop?

Join us in the late afternoon for ballroom basics and gourmet desserts before you head out to your Valentine’s Day dinner.

No dance experience required. Instructor Veronica Hudacek will teach you all the background you need to know to lead and follow some basic American style rumba steps, a pattern that fits with many popular songs you might hear at party receptions as well as traditional Latin rumba music. Then, just for fun, you’ll learn a short East Coast Swing routine to end the class with a bang.

After a little over an hour of dancing, we’ll treat you to champagne and a sampling of decadent desserts, including mini gourmet cupcakes made by one of our very own students, the owner of Tasha Rae Bakery.

This particular workshop will take a departure from our usual focus on fitness. Wear whatever you like — even dressier clothes for those who might be going out to dinner directly afterward will be perfectly suitable. For footwear, we recommend smooth-soled dress shoes, low heels or flats, but sneakers will also do the trick.

  • Our Rittenhouse location: 1624 South St. (Major Moment Studio)
  • $60 per couple or $35 per person. SAVE by purchasing early bird tickets in advance: $50/couple and $30/individuals through Feb. 7

(While this workshop focuses on partner dancing, that doesn’t mean you can’t join in if you don’t have a sweetheart to swing with. Singles will partner up with each other or the instructors.)

Speaking of which, whether single or spoken for, we also invite everyone to join us the Friday night before Valentine’s Day for our “Strong & Sexy Dancing Valentines”-themed Zumba and Striptease classes, also at our Rittenhouse location.

The night begins at 6 p.m. with a sexified Zumba class featuring a playlist filled with the perfect songs for booty-shaking and hip-grinding. Follow this with an extra special Frisky Friday striptease aerobics class that includes a sex toning workout focusing on exercises such as shoulder bridges and plank variations that have a lot of “extracurricular application.” Whether you’re looking to pick up some moves to bring home to your valentine or you just want to have fun and sweat away some calories, this double-header will leave you feeling strong and empowered.
